Foster for Lancashire

Make a difference close to home. As your local authority fostering service, we support you every step of the way to transform a local child’s life. You’ll get competitive payments, bespoke training, 24/7 support, and a caring community across Lancashire.

Why foster for Lancashire County Council

We are your local, not for profit service working across Lancashire, with our Children’s Services rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.

  • Better outcomes for children: we match local children with our own carers, keeping them near family, friends, and school. Your social worker and the child’s social worker are in the same organisation and follow the same policies.

  • Financial support you can rely on: generous allowances and additional payments (for siblings, additional needs, and parent & child placements).

  • Training and development: we offer bespoke in house training and support groups that start before you’re approved, supporting you and your birth children.

  • Round the clock support: a dedicated supervising social worker, local offices, and 24/7 help. You will also have access to our in-house therapeutic support team.

We always welcome carers who are thinking about transferring from an independent fostering agency or another local authority. We will do our best to make this move as quick and easy as possible.
