Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for adult social care support, your needs must meet the national criteria.
We consider how your needs affect your daily life and your wellbeing.
We look at 3 key questions
- 1 Do your needs arise from a physical or mental impairment or illness?
- 2 Do these needs mean you are unable to achieve two or more daily outcomes?
- 3 As a result, is there a significant impact on your wellbeing?
If all 3 answers are yes, you may be eligible for our support.
We consider how you manage everyday activities
- Food and drink
- Washing and dressing
- Using the toilet
- Moving around your home safely
- Keeping in touch with people
- Getting around and using facilities
- Looking after your health
- Looking after children or others
We look at the impact on your wellbeing.
You may be unable to achieve an outcome if you:
- Cannot do it without help
- Can do it, but it causes you significant pain, distress or anxiety
- Can do it, but it puts your health or safety at risk
- Can do it, but it takes significantly longer than expected
Not eligible?
We can still offer advice and information and signpost you to other support to help you stay independent.
