What you will do
People are at the heart of our work. As a social worker, you will use your legal and professional knowledge to:
complete Care Act 2014 assessments
carry out Mental Capacity Act 2005 assessments
lead section 42 safeguarding enquiries
make Court of Protection applications
create person-centred support plans
assess for NHS continuing health care
work with other professionals to make positive changes and manage risk
provide specialist assessments and services, such as:
Mental Health Act (2007) assessments
forensic services
best interest assessments under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
Training and development
When you join adult services, you will start with our adult social care academy. This training programme supports you through your first year and helps you keep your knowledge up to date.
You will also receive:
training in strengths-based practice
ongoing professional development through our learning and development framework
training for specialist roles, including:
approved mental health professional
best interest assessor
practice educator
Salary
social workers: up to £40,778
senior social workers: up to £46,142
