Free school meals test page

From September 2026 all households receiving Universal Credit, above the 7,400 income cap, will qualify for free school meals.

If you have previously applied for free school meals and your child has been confirmed as eligible, there is no need to re-apply. We will recheck your claim and inform your child's school before the start of the new term in September 2026.
