Language leads
We have a network of ‘language leads’ across Lancashire, supported by Lancashire County Council and the NHS Speech and Language Therapy Service.
This is an opportunity for identified language leads to develop their knowledge and skills and also to have access to support from a speech and language therapist.
The role of a language lead is to:
take a lead in promoting a communication friendly environment in your setting
demonstrate good practise and support colleagues in your setting
disseminate information from relevant communication meetings to staff within the setting and to lead on relevant communication projects when needed
support colleagues in identifying potential difficulties and with the process of referral to SLT when necessary
be a point of contact for your local NHS speech and language therapist
support parents in promoting a positive home communication environment
As a language lead you receive a termly newsletter and are invited to a cluster meeting each term. Please find previous newsletters and cluster recordings below.
To receive the latest newsletter and receive an invite to the next live cluster meeting you can sign up to become a language lead sign up to become a language lead.
