Join a library

Apply to join Lancashire libraries

To join a library you will need the following information:

  • Name

  • Local library

  • Date of birth

  • Address

  • Telephone number or email address (so we can contact you about reservations and overdue items)

You can also join at any library during opening hours. Find a Lancashire library.

Teachers: do not register an entire classes for library membership. We encourage you to support individual sign-ups by children and their families.

Anyone in the UK may join Lancashire's library service, however, our eBook downloads and access to subscription resources are limited to Lancashire residents.

If you are under 16 you can join the library by yourself, we will send your parent/carer a letter to tell them about the services you are entitled to.

Unused library memberships will automatically expire every three years under data protection rules.
