Strategic significance
You must provide information about the strategic significance of sites to complete the statutory biodiversity metric.
Strategic mapping for Lancashire’s Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) is being developed. You can find more information about Lancashire’s LNRS on the council’s website.
Areas of particular importance for biodiversity, including both statutory and non-statutory designated sites and irreplaceable habitats, are shown on Lancashire’s nature recovery map.
Until the LNRS is finished, you should decide the strategic significance of sites using the statutory biodiversity metric user guide.
You must explain the level of strategic significance you assign to each habitat in the assessor comments boxes of the statutory metric.
