Safer Roads Fund programme

The Safer Roads Fund was established by the Department for Transport in 2018 to improve safety on England's most dangerous A-roads.

The fund is targeted at delivering road upgrades and improvements with the aim of reducing the number and severity of fatal and serious injury collisions.

We have been awarded funding for a range of improvements to roads within the county which the DFT has identified as high risk routes.

We are currently seeking feedback from residents and businesses on:

Improvements to the Pointer Roundabout in Lancaster

We are carrying out formal consultation on changes to highways needed to deliver this scheme.
