Lancashire County Council (the Authority) wishes to establish an open Provider List of Break Time and Short Breaks Providers who are suitable, capable and experienced to deliver the required services.

About the opportunity

Lancashire County Council (the Authority) is re-opening its Provider List for:

  • Lot 1a Break Time

  • Lot 1b Break Time Plus

  • Lot 2a Day Time Short Breaks

  • Lot 2b Day Time Personal Care

  • Lot 3 Night Time Overnight Short Breaks

  • Lot 4 Intensive Positive Behaviour Support

The Services commissioned from the new Provider List are listed below and will support the Authority in fulfilling its statutory duty to provide a full range of Short Break Services to children/young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities ("SEND") which is sufficient to assist their primary carers to continue to provide care or to do so more effectively.

  • If accepted, you will join an approved list of providers

  • You may be invited to deliver services when required

  • There is no guarantee of work

Who can apply

You can apply if you:

  • Have experience supporting children and young people (experience with disabilities is desirable)

  • Can provide safe, high-quality care and support

  • Have appropriate safeguarding arrangements in place

  • Meet legal and regulatory requirements (e.g. insurance, policies)

  • We actively welcome:

  • Local and small providers

  • New organisations (you do not need to have worked with the Council before)

How the process works

Follow these steps carefully:

Step 1 – Register

  • Go to the procurement portal  www.lancashire.gov.uk/isupplier

  • Create an account (if you don’t already have one)

Step 2 – Find the opportunity

  • Search for: LCC10029  www.lancashire.gov.uk/isupplier

  • Download all documents

Step 3 – Read everything

  • Read all guidance before starting

  • Make a note of what documents you need

Step 4 – Complete the application

  • Answer all questions clearly

  • Provide enough detail about your experience and service

  • Avoid leaving sections blank

Step 5 – Upload your documents

  • Attach all required documents

  • Ensure files are readable and correct

Step 6 – Submit your application

  • Check everything before submitting

  • Submit via the portal before the deadline

How applications are assessed

Your application will be reviewed to check that you:

  • Meet all mandatory requirements

  • Have appropriate experience and capability

  • Can deliver safe and effective services

  • Have provided complete and clear information

Applications that are incomplete or do not meet requirements may not be accepted.

  • Late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances

  • Being on the Provider List does not guarantee work

  • All providers must meet safeguarding and compliance requirements
